When Anne Boleyn got pregnant, the astrologers of Henry VIII told him that the baby to be born in 1533 was going to be a boy. Instead, Elizabeth Tudor, future Queen of England and Ireland, the Virgin Queen, was born.
Although, with time Elizabeth proved to be the right heir for the throne. "The Ice Queen", strong as iron, she ruled England through difficult and dangerous times. Nevertheless, the Virgin Queen had to confront an internal problem into her own Court: Her decision to never marry.

"I will never marry" said an eight year-old Elizabeth, without really knowing that was predicting her destiny. There are many theories that explain why she didn't want to find a husband, some of them politics...
- The disastrous union of her sister Mary with Philip II of Spain created rejection to another foreign marriage
...and other personal reasons...
- She thought that marriage was an uncertain union because it was too easy to break down, like the one of Henry VIII with her own mother.
The opinion of the Court was clear: she needed to marry, not only because the public view, but to engender a heir to avoid a future civil war between her numerous claimants.
But against all, Elizabeth made her choice, and some would say it was the right one for England. However, her decision changed the world. She turned into a pillar to the Kingdom.
Now, for me, Elizabeth represents an image of strength and power. Today, the importance of women in some societies is still devalued as weak, poor and minor, but finding huge important women in history, not only Elizabeth, but presidents, Prime Ministers, judges, on charge of authority and conscience of the presence of "the weak" gender.
I believe in the Queen, but I believe more on what she represents today: Firmness.
